Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Jamket. We’ve tried to write it the way we’d explain it to a colleague — please read it, and ask us if anything is unclear.

About these terms
These Terms of Service (“terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of Jamket (“Jamket”, “we”, “us”). Jamket is an independent education service. They cover the Jamket website and web app, its installable app version and browser extension, and everything you do with them (together, the “service”).
By creating an account, joining a game or class, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms and to the policies they mention, including our Privacy Policy and Refunds & cancellation policy. If you use Jamket on behalf of a school or other organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.
Who can use Jamket
- Teacher accounts are for educators who are 18 or older.
- Self-directed accounts (learning on your own or converting sets) are for people who are 13 or older.
- Student accounts are for students using Jamket with a class that their teacher or school has set up.
- Children under 13 may use Jamket only through a teacher or school, or by joining a live game with a nickname and no account.
When you choose a role, you confirm that the age statement for that role is true. If we learn that an account doesn’t meet these rules, we may close it and delete its data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your account
You sign in with Google, Microsoft or a one-time email link; we never ask you to create a password. Each account is for one person. Keep access to your email and sign-in accounts secure, don’t share your account, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it. You’re responsible for activity in your account unless it happened because of our mistake.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. Deleting it removes your content as described in our data retention page.
Using Jamket with students
If you are a teacher, you decide which students take part and what they see. When you use Jamket with your students, you agree that:
- you use it for legitimate educational purposes and in line with your school’s policies;
- where your school’s policies or the law require it — for example, consent for students under 13 under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — your school has authorized your use of Jamket and given or obtained the necessary notice and consent;
- you share only the student information the activity needs. Live games need nothing more than a nickname, so ask students not to use their full names there; and
- you won’t put sensitive information about students — such as health, disability, discipline or family details — into sets, documents or messages.
How we handle student information, including for schools subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Your content
“Your content” means what you create, upload or enter: sets, questions, answers, images, documents, class and assignment details, and messages. You keep all rights you have in it.
You give us permission to store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide the service to you and to the people you choose to share it with (for example, the players in your game or the students in your class), to keep the service secure, and to comply with the law. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for a short time in backups or by law. We don’t sell your content, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
You’re responsible for having the right to use the content you put into Jamket, including material from textbooks, websites or other quiz platforms.
AI features
Jamket can turn documents and notes you choose into questions. To do that, we send the text needed for the request to our AI providers, who return the results to us; the details are in our Privacy Policy. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for your students, so review every question and answer before you use it. Don’t submit personal information about students or anything you aren’t allowed to share.
The number of AI creations included in each plan is shown on our pricing page. Creations that fail or that you cancel don’t count. AI features depend on outside providers and may occasionally be unavailable.
Live games, classes and rewards
- Anyone with a game’s code can join while the game is open, and the nicknames, questions and scores in a game are visible to everyone in it. The host can lock a game and remove players.
- Class activity, assignment results and reports are visible to the class’s teacher.
- Points, tokens, badges and other rewards in games have no monetary value. They can’t be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for cash or anything else, and Jamket never sells random rewards.
Other platforms
Jamket converts sets to and from other services, and lets you sign in with or publish to services such as Google and Microsoft. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms, which you must also follow. Quizlet, Kahoot!, Gimkit, Blooket, Wayground, Google Forms, Anki, Microsoft Forms and other product names are trademarks of their owners; Jamket isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by them. Other platforms change without notice, so a conversion may not be exact — check the compatibility report and the result before you rely on it. We never ask for your passwords to those services.
Acceptable use
Please don’t use Jamket to:
- harass, bully, threaten or demean anyone, or share hateful, sexual, violent or otherwise inappropriate content with students;
- collect students’ personal information for anything other than teaching them;
- impersonate a person, teacher or school, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, or break the law;
- get around plan limits, access controls or another platform’s restrictions, or access content and accounts you aren’t authorized to use;
- send spam, flood games with automated players, upload malware, probe or overload our systems, or scrape the service; or
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
You can report misuse on our Abuse & copyright page.
Plans, trials and renewals
The Free plan costs nothing. Teacher Pro costs $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, in US dollars; taxes may apply. What each plan includes is listed on our pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card number.
- Automatic renewal. Teacher Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and your payment method is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Manage billing on your account page; cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Free trial. New Teacher Pro subscribers get one 7-day free trial per teacher. A payment method is required to start it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your paid plan starts automatically and you are charged the price shown at checkout.
- Founding Teacher offer. For a limited number of teachers, the first year of the annual plan costs $44.99. After that year it renews at the regular annual price unless you cancel. The offer can end at any time without notice, but never for someone who has already claimed it.
- Price changes. If we change the price of Teacher Pro, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we’ll keep Teacher Pro running for a short grace period while you update your payment method. If the payment still doesn’t succeed, your account moves to the Free plan; nothing you made is deleted.
- Beta. While billing is switched off during our beta, Teacher Pro features are free to use. Features we label as beta may change or end.
Students never pay for Jamket.
Cancelling and refunds
Our Refunds & cancellation policy is part of these terms. In short: if you ask within 14 days of any charge, we refund it in full — automatically, once every 12 months — and a person reviews every other request. If we end your paid plan for reasons that aren’t your fault, we refund the unused part of the period you’ve paid for.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell personal information, and we never use student information for advertising.
Our content and your feedback
The service, including its software, design, built-in game modes, artwork and the Jamket name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service as they allow; they don’t give you any other rights in it. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Copyright complaints
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement and to counter-notices as described on our Abuse & copyright page, and we close the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
Changes
Jamket is growing, so features will change. If we remove or substantially reduce a Teacher Pro feature you pay for, we’ll tell you in advance, and you can cancel and ask for a prorated refund of the unused period.
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in the app before they take effect; the “Last updated” date above always shows the current version. If you keep using Jamket after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, stop using Jamket and delete your account — and if you have a paid plan, contact us for a prorated refund.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Jamket and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if it breaks these terms, puts students or other people at risk, harms the service, or if the law requires it. When we can, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem or download your content first. We may also stop offering the service; if we do, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund any prepaid period you can’t use.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Jamket reliable and accurate, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that conversions or AI-generated content will be accurate or complete, or that the service will meet a particular educational outcome. Teaching decisions remain yours.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jamket won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the service or these terms. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose and US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
If you use the service in breach of these terms or the law and that causes a claim against us by someone else, you agree, to the extent the law allows, to cover our reasonable costs of that claim. This doesn’t apply to claims caused by our own breach or negligence.
Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem with Jamket, please contact us first — most issues can be fixed quickly. If we can’t resolve a dispute informally within 30 days, either of us may take it to court. These terms are governed by applicable U.S. federal law and the laws of the state where Jamket’s operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located there. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead. Nothing here takes away consumer protections you have under the law where you live.
General terms
These terms, together with the policies they mention, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a business that takes over the service, and we’ll tell you if that happens. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. We may send you notices by email or in the app; you can reach us with our contact form.
