Policies
Data retention
How long Jamket keeps each kind of data, and how it’s removed. Every period below is carried out automatically by the service, not by hand.
Last updated
Your account and library
| Data | How long we keep it | How it’s removed |
|---|---|---|
| Account details, role and age confirmation | Until you delete your account | Deleted immediately with the account |
| Sets, folders and images in your library | Until you delete them or your account | Deleted immediately when you delete them |
| Earlier versions of each set | The last 5 on Free, the last 25 on Teacher Pro | Older versions are removed each time you save |
| Uploaded images no saved set uses | 1 hour after upload | Removed at the next hourly cleanup |
| Export history | Until you clear it or delete your account | Deleted when you clear it |
| Google Forms and Sheets connection | Until you disconnect Google or delete your account | Access is revoked at Google and the encrypted tokens are deleted |
Classes and live games
| Data | How long we keep it | How it’s removed |
|---|---|---|
| Classes, rosters and assignments | Until the teacher deletes the class or their account | Deleted immediately |
| A student’s assignment attempts and study progress | Until the student deletes their account | Deleted immediately with the student’s account |
| Live game rooms: nicknames, answers and scores while a game runs | 2 hours after the game ends. A game ends when the host finishes it, after 1 hour without activity, or after 6 hours at most | Automatic room cleanup |
| Session reports (nicknames, scores and question results for the host) | Until the host deletes their account | Deleted immediately with the host’s account |
Removing a student from a class, or deleting the class, doesn’t delete the student’s own study history: it stays in their account until they delete it.
AI creations
| Data | How long we keep it | How it’s removed |
|---|---|---|
| Text extracted from your document for an AI creation | Until your questions are ready; 7 days if the creation fails or is cancelled | Deleted on success; daily cleanup otherwise |
| Generated questions you haven’t saved | 7 days | Daily cleanup (saved sets stay in your library) |
| AI creation records (status and size, never text) | 90 days | Daily cleanup |
The original PDF or PowerPoint file never leaves your device. See Documents and AI in our Privacy Policy.
Billing and messages
| Data | How long we keep it | How it’s removed |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription status, plan and dates | Until you delete your account | Deleted with the account; Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires |
| Refund requests, with your reason and feedback | Until resolved, then 2 years | Hourly cleanup; deleted immediately with your account |
| Free-trial fingerprint (a keyed one-way hash of your email, not the email itself) | 2 years from the start of your trial or subscription, including after you delete your account | Hourly cleanup. It only stops a second free trial |
| Refund fingerprint (the same keyed one-way hash of your email) | 1 year from your last refund, including after you delete your account | Hourly cleanup. It only applies the one-automatic-refund-a-year rule |
| Messages sent through the contact form | 1 year | Hourly cleanup. Deleting your account unlinks them from it |
Sign-in and operational data
| Data | How long we keep it | How it’s removed |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in sessions | 30 days, renewed while you use Jamket | Expire automatically; signing out ends them at once |
| One-time sign-in links and sign-in state | 10 minutes | Expire automatically |
| Operational events (no content, names or emails) | 90 days | Hourly cleanup |
| Stripe notification audit (event ids and outcomes) | 90 days | Hourly cleanup |
| Counters used to limit abuse (by IP address, account, or a one-way hash of a sign-in email) | Within 3 hours | Hourly cleanup |
On your device
Your browser keeps the conversion you’re working on, so it survives a reload, and display choices such as Lite Mode. They stay on that device until you start another conversion or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Deleting your account
Use Delete account on your account page. We first cancel any Teacher Pro subscription so you’re never charged again, then delete your profile, library and images, classes you own (with their rosters and assignments), session reports, study history, refund requests, export history, sign-in sessions and Google connection. Charged recently? Request your refund before deleting — see our refund policy.
A few records outlast the account, each for the reason shown above: the free-trial and refund fingerprints, contact-form messages (no longer linked to you) and the records Stripe keeps about payments.
Service providers and backups
Our service providers keep some records under their own policies and legal duties: Stripe keeps payment records, Google and Microsoft keep records of your sign-ins, and Cloudflare keeps short-lived operational logs and metrics and a recovery history of our database. Data we delete can remain in that recovery history for a limited time before it ages out. Questions about retention? Use our contact form.
